Bio

Allen Daniel Rivera is a Bay Area native. He is passionate about performing music in a way that builds community and offers holistic healing. A drummer/percussionist since the age of 5, Allen also enjoys learning guitar, piano, clarinet, and ukulele. He is an alumnus of The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and Broken City Percussion. Allen enjoys playing rudimental snare and mallet percussion. He is a freelance percussionist for the greater Bay Area, with an emphasis on musical theatre.

As a Vic Firth Education Artist, he has taught music in many settings such as middle and high school marching bands, drum corps, summer music camps, and private lessons for the past 13 years. He leads his own private teaching studio in American Canyon, CA called Peace River Academy of Music and teaches as an instructor at Guitar Center in Concord, CA.

Allen enjoys swimming, gardening, and calisthenics in his free time and is intrigued by the body mechanics that allow a percussionist to hit things and produce sounds in a way that is physically sustainable. His cat is a Maine Coon mix named Tempo.
