Haunted by the Nahua deity Tlazolteotl, 4 cousins in Northeast LA try to protect each other from the violence and family strife threatening to tear them apart. Niki, Tomi, Beto, and Ernie are 4 close-knit cousins growing up in North-east LA. As Ernie gets increasingly involved with his gang, he tries to maintain a caring and protective role with the younger Niki, Tomi, and Beto. The boys’ tight-knit relationships unravel when the Nahua goddess of refuse and regeneration, Tlazolteotl, arrives to intervene in their everyday lives.
Assalti Frontali – A Tale of Resistance
Director: Paolo Fazzini, Francesco Principini
Runtime: 01:50:00
2023 marked the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip hop culture and rap music in the United States. ‘A tale of resistance” celebrates the band that first recorded an Italian rap album in 1990, Assalti Frontali, which is one of the representative and pioneering groups of politicized rap in Italy. Aftermore than thirty years, the band’s leader Militant A (real name Luca Mascini), is still the same and he tells his story as never before, portraying his human and artistic parabola, rooted in the history of Italy, in the world of antagonist autonomy and student movements, faithful to his ideals, dreams, the irrepressible desire to make music and the will to change the world. Even today.
